Hollywood colorist Tracey Cunningham, who is a Redken creative consultant, helped Cameron Diaz, Jessica Biel and Jennifer Lopez achieve picture-perfect color for the MTV Movie Awards June 6. Cunningham’s Red Carpet-worthy formulas give lackluster locks a summery boost. Here, she shares her formulas:
For Diaz’s California blonde, use equal parts Redken Shades EQ 09AA Papaya, 09G Vanilla Crème and Processing Solution; finish with Shades EQ 000 Crystal Clear and Processing Solution.
For Biel’s sun-kissed brunette, apply equal parts of Shades EQ 09NB Irish Crème, 09AA Papaya and Processing Solution. Add highlights with Blonde Icing Conditioning Crème Lightener and finish with Shades EQ 000 Crystal Clear with Processing Solution.
For Lopez’s golden brunette, use Shades EQ 09NB Irish Crème with equal parts  Processing Solution and highlight with Redken Blonde Icing Conditioning Crème Lightener; finish with Shades EQ 000 Crystal Clear with Processing Solution.

I think you have printed a mistake. I am sure that Tracey Cunningham, Redken Artist would NEVER use “A 30 volume developer” with Redken Shades EQ. All Redken color brands have DESIGNATED Redken developers. Shades EQ is a no ammonia, no lift, demi-permanent color that REQUIRES Shades EQ Processing solution be used. And no, its not 30 volume.

Wow!! I never thought of using 30 vol. with shades. I would love to know the application process and what level and tone the hair was to begin with. I have lots of clients who would love to achieve these looks………….it would be great to deliver them.

We have adjusted the formulas according to an update from Tracey Cunningham, who used Redken Shades EQ Processing Solution for all colors.
