Sophie Theallet’s spring 2012 collection drew inspiration from the 1969 French movie La Piscine (The Swimming Pool), which was flooded with sexual tension. Playing off this theme, lead stylist for Aveda Didier Malige designed a hair style that looked as if the model had emerged from the swimming pool, let her hair dry in the sun for a bit, then pulled it back into a bun. “It’s simple and nonchalant with an effortless sensuality,” Malige explained. To get the look, he used Aveda Pure Abundance Hair Potion to prep the hair, Control Paste for shine and a bit of grit and Grooming Clay to keep the hair together. Malige created the style by simply pulling hair back and twisting it into a bun, which he then pinned into place.
