For Duckie Brown’s eclectic men’s collection, shown at the tents at Lincoln Center, lead stylist for American Crew Paul Wilson created three distinct looks for the male models, depending on the guys’ hair length. “The looks range from sharp and groomed and dissolve into something more dry and lived in and definitely ungroomed,” Wilson said.
Wilson created the groomed look by layering American Crew Molding Clay for shine with Boost Powder, a new product launching in February 2011 that gives hair a bit of a gritty texture, then applied heat with a blow dryer and brushed the hair with a Mason Pearson brush. For the transitional look, Wilson applied the new Boost Cream (also launching in February) that provides volume for curly hair looks to the hair and roughed it up at the widest part of the head. Finally, he created the ungroomed look using Boost Cream and a blow dryer to plump up the hair and exaggerate the natural form and texture of the guys’ hair.
