At Cesar Galindo, hair and makeup were both inspired by Joan Jett. Lead hairstylist for Redken Holli Smith gave models one of two different hairstyles, either a mullet-inspired wig or fringe bangs and a ponytail. To create the wig look, Smith used Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray to give hair a matte finish. The bangs look was created by applying Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam onto the hairline, adding the bangs to the front of the ponytail and then finishing with Forceful 23.
Lead makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff for Mary Kay wanted to create a look that was inspired by Joan Jet and ’80s rock ‘n’ roll. She used Midnight Blue Eye Shadow to create a smoky eye, applied three coats of mascara over faux lashes and brightened up the cheeks with mineral cheek color.
