Gary Manuel Salon in Seattle is the recipient of Puget Sound Business Journal’s Corporate Champion Award for the Environment category. Nominated by Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, the salon beat out 800 applicants to win the award. The salon raised more than $46,000 this year to benefit Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, a group that works to preserve and protect the waterways of Puget Sound. In total, Gary Manuel Salon and Gary Manuel Aveda Institute have contributed more than $113,000 since partnering with the nonprofit organization in 2008. “It was an easy way for us to help pay Gary Manuel back for all their hard work during a tough economic time,” says Bob Beckman, executive director of Puget Soundkeeper Alliance.
