Glamorous and gorgeous hair took over the red carpet at the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards last night. Here’s a recap of some of our favorite looks.

To create this simple and flattering updo, Laini Reeves used a 2-inch curling iron, creating spiral curls. She worked through them with her fingers, then teased them in a pontyail and wrapped the hair like a ballerina bun at the nape of the neck. Key Products: Wella Professionals Enrich Shampoo and Conditioner, Stay Firm Finishing Spray

Gretchen Mol

Gretchen Mol 225x300 Some 2011 Emmy Awards FavoritesInfluenced by the simple L’Wren Scott dress, Nathaniel Hawkins used Wella Professionals to create a loose and modern but beautiful and elegant hairstyle for Mol. Blow-drying hair up and away from the face, he scrunched hair dry for volume. Sections were curled and then brushed out immediately, and pinned with Velcro curlers. After being set, hair was brushed out again to get rid of creases and for a slightly undone look. Key Products: Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier, Extra Volume Styling Mousse, Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray, Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray, Stay Firm Finishing Spray

Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii went for a “straight edgy” look. He parted hair down the middle and divided strands into four sections before straightening. Hair was then scrunched to create movement. Key Products: Couture Colour Pequi Oil, IT&LY Hairfashion 1-inch Digital Flat Iron

Heather Morris 209x300 Some 2011 Emmy Awards Favorites

Using Wella Professionals, Paul Norton based the rough and polished look for Heather Morris’ modern updo on a French-twist style. After curling hair with a 1-inch curling iron, he divided it into three sections and smoothed it upwards, twisting the sections inward and securing them with bobby pins. The center section was left looking like a small ponytail but was rolled under for the finished look. Key Products: Wella Professionals Curl Craft Wax Mousse, Velvet Amplifier Hair Primer, Create Character Texturizing Spray, Dynamic Fix 45 Second Crafting Spray

Matthew Monzon created a hairstyle that mirrored the glamour of Margulies’ Armani prive gown, with a modern take on a Veronica Lake look. Monzon made a deep side part and set the top portion of hair in Velcro rollers. Using a 1 ½-inch curling iron to barrel-curl hair, he curled hair layer on top of layer, maintaining the direction of the curl for one layer and switching direction for the next. Hair was brushed through for a soft wave. Key Products: Leonor Greyl’s Lait Luminescence Bi-Phase Detangling Milk, Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice, Voluforme Styling Spray, Laque Souple Light Styling Spray

Julianne Hough

For a chic and classic but also natural look, to complement Hough’s 1950′s inspired form-fitting dress, Campbell McAuley used Wella Professionals to create an easy and elegant parted and pulled-back bun. After it was parted in the center and brushed down and then back into a low natural ponytail, hair was circled into a bun and secured with a ponytail. Key Products: Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier Style Primer, Shimmer Delight Shine Spray, Dynamic Fix 45 Second Crafting Spray

Julie Bowen 214x300 Some 2011 Emmy Awards Favorites

Jill Crosby used T3 tools to achieve this sleek and simple, low, side ponytail. First blowing out hair with a round brush for volume, Crosby straightened hair, leaving lift at the root. Hair was parted down the middle and finger raked and fixed with an elastic and pins for a low off-center ponytail. Key Products: T3 Evolution hair dryer, T3 Fahrenheit450 flat iron

To match the beautifully powerful red Donna Karen dress, Riawna Capri of Nine Zero One Salon used Wella Professionals for an effortless hair look. She applied Velcro rollers to set hair, then used a 1-inch curling iron, and finally pinned hair in horizontal sections. Hair was brushed off to one side and the bang area was lifted. Key Products: Wella Professionals Flowing Form Smoothing Balm, Stay Firm Finishing Spray, Shimmer Delight Shine Spray

LOVED the looks at the Emmys this year! I especially loved Katie Holmes’ effortlessly chic up-do. I’ll definitely be asking my stylist at Dominic Michael Salon to re-create this look!
