As one of the largest purchasers of organic ingredients in the personal care industry, Aveda is eco-conscious all year round. During Earth Month, however, the company really kicks up their efforts, having raised $11 million for environmental causes since they started their Earth Month campaigns in 1999. This year, Aveda is hoping to raise a record $3 million for global and local clean water projects, through their first-ever Aveda Walk For Water. Participating Aveda salons and spas throughout the country will host walk-a-thons. To join in or donate, find your local salon or spa here.
Aveda is also selling the Light the Way candle, made with certified
organic French lavender. I was lucky enough to visit the lavender fields this oil is sourced from last summer—and I like to think that some of the lavender I harvested has made its way into these candles! Aveda is giving 100% of the proceeds from this limited-edition candle to support Global Greengrants Fund’s (GGF) water-related projects.
